I have found that taking a large spoonful of cyder vinegar (made by Aspall) works to prevent my RLS. Taken every night before bedtime.

How long have you been doing this? Are you taking any prescription meds as well. How severe has your RLS been. I would love to try this. One more question, you mentioned the brand you take by name, is that the only one that works?
Thanks so much
Hi Chris, I am only on statins 5mg for cholesterol and in good general health but after starting statins 3 years ago was being affected with RLS every night which definately stopped me sleeping unless I took 2 paracetamol and waited for that to work by 2 or 3am. RLS has not affected me so much recently but still do get it from time to time, once a month, I think maybe if I drink milk at night but not sure of that. I buy the organic Aspall cyder vinegar because it is slightly less disagreeable to drink than the regular cyder vinegar. I have not tried any other brand. I am a fairly heavy drinker, 3 glasses of wine a night, and whisky at the weekends.... and I am 68. Hope this helps. Try cyder vinegar it works for me. every time.
Thanks for answering my questions. I'm taking gabapentin 300 mg about 2 hours before bed time. It usually helps unless I can fall asleep quickly. Then the RLS kicks in. It usually is mild and lets me get to sleep after an hour or so. I was on Requip and the augmentation got really bad. So far I'm happy with gabapentin, but I'm going to try the apple cider vinegar to see if that will help.
Brilliant that you posted this. I found I can ‘dodge’ RLS by watching what I eat……. Salt being the worst thing. I can also ease it by a glass of red wine or by using those bean bags that you heat in the microwave. I’ll get some vinegar and give that a go. Cheers
