I am now to .5mg of ropinirole daily. It has been hell. How long does the pain last after your last dose?

It can take several weeks or longer. Have you been prescribed a low

dose opioid which will help?

At least 14 days. It's horrible but worth it. Have you been given replacement meds or meds to cover the withdrawal symptoms?

yes

Sending positive thoughts your way. The 2 weeks after the last dose will be hellish with little or no sleep but stick with it as every day you'll notice the RLS improves slightly.

Once off it, the severity will decrease and the replacement meds will really start to work in about 3 to 4 weeks.

Order some red vein kratom powder or hirsuta powder so you can cut the rls at night within minutes and fall back asleep. It is not necessarily a long-term solution, although I am using it, but it has saved me and many others from much suffering....and we suffer enough! I am so thankful to this forum for suggesting the above-I would have never made it.

I was on 4 mg daily. I am now down to 1 mg. On Saturday, I tried to go without it completely .

My legs were unbearable in spite of pain killers, Kratom etc

My thoughts at the time were to abandon the weaning process and go back to Ropinerole.

I took my 1 mg yesterday (Sunday) and they were much better. I guess it’s going to be a long process. I will give it another week then try .5mg daily

Scottie, reduce the ropinirole much more slowly. That will most likely lessen the agony, although there are no guarantees. Reduce by 0.25mg. There are pills of this size. If not available, just try to cut with a pill cutter of a sharp knife. Wait for the increased symptoms to settle (at least about 2 weeks) and then reduce again. The general experience here is that slowing the reduction process makes it more bearable, although its gets dragged out of course. It also may reduce the chance of severe withdrawal reactions.

I had reduced the ropinirole by .5 as I had been up to 8 pills per day back in the winter. I have since reduced by .25. My pain is hell but I am determined to get off of ropinirole. I take an opioid but not sure if it helps. I had less than one hour sleep last night. I am down to .5 daily. I don't think it can get much more painful.

Slow down and reduce less each time waiting for the increase in symptoms to settle before reducing more.

I will try.

Thank you, I have been trying to find it. Is there a specific brand or where do you get it?

You're welcome! I hate seeing the suffering in your posts and it is unnecessary. Also, it is just so dangerous mentally and physically.

I use mitragaia.com- thanks to another poster on the forum.

Order one of the red strain powders: red borneo, red bali, red kali-any of those. You can also order some capsules, too. The powder works to stop rls very quickly and the capsules more slowly, but they are easier to carry with you, of course. Or, take them both together to spread out the relief longer. You can also get kratom at local head shops, if you would rather do that. Just get the best quality/lab tested brands.

This co. seems like a great, quality company and the service is fast. I would pay extra to get it overnight, with what you are going through!

You can also get hirsuta (a similar type powder) from teatimebotanicals. Again, thanks to another poster! Both work great for me and I use both.

You can get small bags of all of the above to try them out. Start with 1/2 to 1 teaspoon and see how that goes. You should feel total relief within 15 minutes using the powder!

They may or may not be good long term, but have totally saved me and allowed me to piece together hours of sleep.

Please let me/us know!

I am slowly weaning off Ropinirol. I was taking 1.5mg (three pills, 0.5mg each.) My first reduction was to take two pills. That was too ambitious. I started cutting the pills in half, then in quarters which is a challenge since the pills are so small. Now, after a couple of months, I’m down to one and one quarter pills equal to 0.75mg. It’s taking a long time but I seem to be tolerating it fairly well. It could very well be that my RLS is not as severe as most of the people on this site. I am anxious to see if I can manage to be dug-free.
