Antipsychotics

my daughter who is 44 has had personality disorder problems since the age of 16. However she has managed a marriage and bringing up two teenage boys . She is now divorced but has a good friendly relationship with her ex.

I hate to see some of the meds she seemingly has to take but the latest prescription with all the horrendous side effects I have recommended her to stop taking this poison!!!

It is called ARIPIPRAZOLE. I personally have received some excellent advice from this site for RLS and wonder if I could green some information here?

I'm wondering whether there might be a HealthUnlocked page that is dedicated to personality disorders and their medications that may better serve you?People on this site have extensive lived experience of RLS and the medications prescribed for it. That's why they're in a position to comment on other's (RLS) situation. There are also numerous equally experienced people reviewing their comments.

I'd be wary of taking advice from anyone on this page re. psychiatric drugs prescribed for your daughter's condition.

All the best

All I can say is that most of ---- prazol medications are not good for RLS.But I really can't comment on your daughter's case.

As amrob says, there is certain to be a site on Hu dedicated to this issue.

Search in your profile box.

Good luck.

Does your daughter suffer RLS as a result of the anti psychotics? If so, it will be difficult to give advice as she will need help for her depression / psychosis but most of the meds used exacerbate RLS.

I understand. I can only suggest you follow Professor Nutt on Twitter or via Internet searches. He is doing studies on Psilocybin ( magic mushrooms) at Imperial College London. Apparently it is helping people with long term depression but I don't know whether it's relevant to your daughter as psychosis is different to long term depression.

Have you looked up Facebook support groups for personality disorders? Or Reddit communities? They often have discussions similar to what you find on HealthUnlocked.

Not what you're looking for?
