Gut feeling: I would think it is rather the gabapentin than the tramadol causing these issues. And the gabapentin can be reduced in smaller steps as there are 100mg capsules available. You'll have to ask to get some of your gabapentin in those smaller capsules.

Or didn't you have this issue when you were on 1800mg and only 50mg tramadol? If so, there can be an interaction between the two medicines causing this. But that is detailed stuff and you may have to ask your chemist. At least have a good look at the info leaflets of both medicines, they may point you in the right direction.

Muscle pain and weak legs sounds like possible nerve or back issues to me rather than a side effect of gabapentin. Gabapentin and pregabalin normally work to reduce these sensations rather than increase them. That said, we are all different so very difficult to predict. Sometimes experimenting with the doses is the only way to find out. I know someone who had pain in the back and legs recently and couldn't walk further than 100 yards before his legs started giving way and that was identified as stenosis of the spine and was rectified by a decompression operation. First step for back issues is normal an MRI.

Or as I posted elsewhere just now ...

Dopamine Agonist Withdrawal Syndrome (DAWS) is a reasonable well documented set of symptoms experienced by people coming off Dopamine agonists. Most of the side effects seem to relate to compulsive behaviour, anxiety, and include ... anxiety, discouragement, feeling sad or empty, irritability, lack of appetite, lack of feeling or emotion, loss of interest or pleasure, sweating, tiredness, trouble concentrating, trouble sleeping, uncaring, or unusual tiredness or weakness.

Generalised pain is also mentioned on many posts and articles but not all so it doesn't seem to be as prevalent as the rest but I wonder whether this is what people are experiencing after coming off DA's especially if there are no clear other causes of pain such as arthritis, rheumatism, or spine and nerve problems.
