Wellbutrin is good for depression but won't help symptoms of RLS. How much pregabalin are you taking? Are you taking any other medicines or over the counter supplements. If you list them here, I can tell you whether any of them are making your RLS worse and can perhaps provide you with a safe substitute.

Sue, what about 5HTP?

It helps with sleep and may help depression.

Can one take it if using gabapentin and .50 trazadine (for sleep)?

Echoing SueJohnson, Wellbutrin does nothing for RLS.

However, it is one of, if not the only, antidepressants that doesn't make RLS worse.

That's why my medication regimen for depression and anxiety consists of daily wellbutrin and lamictal, and monthly ketamine infusions.

There are other antidepressants that don't make RLS worse although Wellbutrin is probably the best but not available in the UK. Second best is trazodone.

Hey, it is available in the uk but privately and to help you give up smoking, I’ve just paid for a prescription as I’m currently on fluoxetine but want to stop as it’s making my RLS worse

Yes. I’ve been on Wellbutrin on and off for a number of years. It’s a particularly a good adjunct/add on medication for another antidepressant. It is a little activating and comes in extended release and immediate release. I take the immediate release in the am and early pm (1pm ) so that it doesn’t create insomnia, restless sleep. It’s the only antidepressant that I’m aware of that usually doesn’t make RLS worse and some studies even show a slight improvement in PLMS at night. Best wishes

My husband was on Wellbutrin for many years. He had 120 ECTS to help his depression. In the end the non invasive TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) did the trick. Wellbutrin did not have any effect on his RLS. After augmenting on DAs he was switched to Methadone.

I had a very bad anaphylactic reaction to it. Allergist said it’s not uncommon.

I started taking it but it made me very angry and irritable. I had to stop.
