After a nearly two month denial and a subsequent appeal process spearheaded by my doctor, my insurance company agreed to continue covering my Oxycontin use for RLS. The head of their appeal process had never heard of opiod use for RLS and so were trying to pigeonhole me into their pain management protocol for coverage. Hopefully this small victory will help others in a similar situation with this insurance company.
