If it's the longacting OXY such as Oxycontin, then it only lasts for about 9 to 12 hours. Many people will experience mild withdrawal from it if you only take it once a day.You could try Oxycontin 5 for the other half of the 24 hours, but in my case that wasn't enough. I had to go with the 10 dose twice a day ,to provide a continuous opioid cover.
If you are in an area that will prescribe methadone, then that might be a better option, as it lasts a lot longer.
I too had to go from one 15mg oxy to twice daily as coverage wasnt enough. Lucky to get 8 hours out of one dose. I didn't experience nausea on one dose but definitely was restless trying to time when to take the one dose based on my nightly activities and my previous nights sleep. Two doses relieved most of that worry.
I take oxycodone 5 mg and cut the pills in half. I start taking the pills at 5pm and every hour I take a half until eleven o clock. I find they usually work every once in awhile I will wake at 2 or 3 am and at times will have RLS symptoms so then i take another half a pill. I was on mirapex for years and had to go cold turkey to get off. It was awful.
