Down to the last leg of Roprinirole reduction

Hi. As some of you will know, I have been reducing my Roprinirole and tonight started taking 0.25mg. I was on 2mg but reduced it gradually as advised on here. Still suffering every day with symptoms but it hasn't actually got any worse thank goodness but I know that can change. I have also begun taking Pregabalin tonight - 50mg. Can anyone advise me how I gradually increase the dose . I know the maximum is 450mg but don't want to take that much unless I have to. My GP didn't really have any idea but was happy to prescribe the meds. Thanks in anticipation.

I too am reducing my Ropinerole gradually, now at 0.75 mg, I’m doing it very slowly. Haven’t noticed any change in symptoms up to now, much the same as when I was on 2.5 mg. My GP has no knowledge whatsoever about RLS, neither does the practice Pharmacist. I’m relying on advice from anyone and everyone in this forum. Not sure what to take once I’ve discontinued the Ropinerole. I feel as if I need to start from a clean slate and see what is the most effective solution

Hope you are managing OK. My RLS is every day now for hours at a time so I'm hoping that the Pregabalin will start to work a little in a couple of weeks or so.

I found that starting pregabalin on 150mg a day (in 2 x 75mg doses 12 hours apart) was fine and the next step a week later went up to 300mg a day, again in 2 doses which was more effective. No significant side effects. I was taking it for neuropathic pain rather than my RLS but I can’t see that would make any difference.

Thank you for your response. I only have 50mg capsules so will have to do 3 a day eventually I expect.

Add 25 mg at a time but do not increase it until you are off ropinirole for several weeks as it won't have any effect.

My GP has only given me 50mg capsules and they can't be cut in half so I will have to manage by increased 50mg at a time. Thanks.

I would ask him to give you a prescription for 25 mg, as 50 mg is a lot to increase it by each time.

I've had the prescription dispensed now so not sure he'd do that. That's the problem when the GP's know nothing about RLS.
