I’m trying New drug
Do you mean aripripazole?
If you were to google it you will see it is an "atypical" antipsychotic drug.
You will also see it's a dopamine D2 partial agonist
That’s the one!!!!! It’s dopamine therapy.
It's not as simple as that.
It's a therapy for schizophrenia designed to balance dopamine and serotonin.
This doesn't mean it's of any value for RLS.
Do we need nore dopaminergic therapies for RLS?
The latest research on meds for RLS has moved away from dopamine.
I wouldn't suggest anybody try even if anybody would prescribe it.
Sorry
I have adhd and tic disorder too so I think here’s trying to balance that out
In that case it can help the attention deficit and tics, but may also help RLS.
Hard to say, because the 3 things are associated with different areas of the brain.
E.g. both DAs and opioids are good at treating RLS.
However whereas DAs can affect the reward system and cause impulsive behaviour, opioids cause euphoria
Pramipexole never gave me euphoria.
Like other meds It treats the symptoms but not the cause.
