Generally it needs to be over 100 or more .

However, be aware that iron levels are not a panacea for RLS, as only about 50% of sufferers actually benefit from iron supplementation.

My Ferritin level was 49 - raging RLS - docs said OK - NOT - finally found Johns Hopkins Neurology Dept. website. Supplement with Ferrous Bisglycinate Chelate raised it to 105 in one month.

Yes indeed - but you would think that is the end of it. Not so, it still appears, albeit mild RLS, but protracted insomnia leaves me with very fractured sleep with many awakenings (like last night). So, why was I iron deficient in the first place? I haven't taken any iron supplements in many months yet RLS mostly stays away except for the insomnia.
