At some point, I saw someone on here post a great link of a printable form that could be handed to a doctor to ensure you would not be prescribed any medication that would worsen RLS symptoms. Can someone point me to it again, please?
Thanks, everyone!

I carry of copy of this everywhere I go. I did a snapshot of an earlier post where joolsg replied with this earlier and I saved it. . It’s been a lifesaver! The post was titled “meds that exasperate RLS” about 12 months ago.
Awesome! I was trying to figure out if beta blockers were on there, because I just got some for anxiety and it seems like my symptoms are through the roof!
The list is incomplete, I can see a couple of things missing e.g. proton pump/H2 inhibitor antacids and beta blockers
Beta blockers aren't of much use for anxiety, they genarally only relieve it's physical symptoms e.g. increased heart rate, raised Blood pressure, vasoconstriction etc.
Yeah, that was the idea from my doc… to try and quell physical symptoms. Usually, I can manage it through breathing techniques and exercise, but I’m having a really hard Time the last few weeks so I was exploring options that aren’t contraindicated with the opioid I take for RLS.
Hello Newmomma. I have suffered severe anxiety for the past year because my GP at that time botched a changeover from oxycodone to buprenorphine patches. Long story short I was admitted to hospital after disastrous reaction to AstraZeneca vaccine. Hospital doctor insisted I take Valium and propranolol (beta blocker). Four days later I had to go to A and E with severe side effects of propranolol and was told to stop it. The next day my hair started to fall out and I have lost about two thirds altogether and no sign of growing back. Within three weeks of twice daily Valium I was hooked on it. I had changed my GP and she helped me to get off. I can now take a 2 mg Valium if I am really bad but I limit this to perhaps 2 - 3 times a week. These drugs are so strong and if you can find another way through your troubles you should. I now get CBT counselling and I try mindfulness- at least these have no bad effects on my body.
I wish you all the best. Anxiety and panic attacks are horrible and you can feel so alone.
I have chronic anxiety, so I really empathize with you. Usually, I can keep it pretty much under control, but I’m about to take my PhD field exams, my baby is teething like crazy, and there is a huge surge of COVID in my area. I work at a university that refuses to impose safety precautions so I’m terrified I’m going to get it, bring it home to my child, fob my exams, etc. This was an attempt to find something to help with the physical symptoms that wouldn’t interact with the opioid I take for RLS.
Hi Newmomma - You have a lot on your plate. I do emphasize with you. Anxiety is so horrible and difficult to deal with. I send you good wishes for your PhD and hope those teeth come through soon. Take care.
