Ropinerole Augmentation suggestions

I augmented on Ropinerole...i was started on Gabapentin 2700 mg day..take 3 times a day...make sure you take 3x a day ...worked great for me..i also had 2 Iron Infusions...i hope this helps.....

Just to clarify that what you write here implies that you STARTED on 2700mg gabapentin. That is one day you were taking none, the next day 2700mg. I hope this was not the case. This is a very high dose, the maximum. Dangerous!

The starting dose is 300mg a day which is then built up until it starts to work.

Another point - if you were suffering augmentation then you may have had symptoms during the day in which case it's logical to take it 3 X a day. Once augnentation is gone, you should not get symptoms in the day, so should only need it once a day. You may even be able to reduce the dose.

Another point - taking more than 1200mg of gabapentin is largely pointless because of its inconsistent absorption properties. If you do need more than 1200mg it's better to switch to pregabalin which does have better absorption properties.

Who knows you may find you only need 900mg gaba at night = 150mg pregabalin.
