Never say die
An interesting metaphor that you see RLS as an enemy that you have to battle against.
The trouble with that metaphor is that battles can be lost.
I tend to think of RLS as a difficult neighbour that you have to diplomatically negotiate with and sometimes it's better to just accept, that this is the way it is.
There are drugs and treatments the will help you and don’t accept defeat keep fighting it for eventual control of your life dont give up
People are different. I learned to stop fighting with my RLS some years ago and came to an agreement with it. At the time this didn't significantly improve symptoms, but it helped me cope better with them.
Not fighting is not the same as "giving up". Giving up is part of the same metaphor. If you see it as a battle, then you can only win, lose or "give up". If it's not a battle then there's nothing to give up.
Not seeing it as a battle allows more options. It doesn't stop you looking for solutions.
" Acceptance" is a recognised therapy for chronic mental health and some chronic physical problems.
It might not suit everyone, but it seems people tend to automaticallly fall into struggling with their RLS and the struggling can, in fact, make the experience worse. Sorry they can't see another way.
I read so many members who really "battle" with their RLS and the struggling just seems to make it worse. It's a shame.
I see my rls as a battle to win .when I stop fighting it I will give up . For me there is nothing else , I won’t quit till it’s over for me. I think you give sound advice every one I’m sure thanks you.
