Hi I have been on three sets of antibiotics for an infection but my question is can these drugs cause a feeling of unbalance and also fainting feeling especially when standing up from a seating position
I think it may be the pramipexole causing the problem which seemed to coincide with starting pramipexole 0.088 mg but not sure. I was weaning off the Pregabalin down to 75mg. I take both at nighttime
I also take an anticoagulant Apixiban twice a day
Any ideas the fainting feeling is particularly scary

Hello Hoochybaby,I had to give up both Pramipexole and Ropinirole because of nausea and fainting. I am now on the Neupro patch, which belongs to the same family of drugs but doesn’t have the same side effects for me. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the reply I have been taking both Pramipexole and pregabalin at night and although I slept ok with both I started to feel faint and exausted when I cut out the pregabalin insomnia returned so catch22 situation
What you are experiencing seems to be something known as orthostatic or postural hypotension.
My suggestion is you consult a doctor about this.
I'm not sue if it's due to any of the medicines you mention.
I agree with Manerva, it sounds like postural hypertension and may need to be addressed as a separate condition. I am trying to wean off pramipaxole and my doctor wants to replace it with amitiptyline.. All I can say at the moment is that neither is working and I'm pretty miserable. I would go back to the doctor if I were you.
