Please advise. I took trazodone for a month as prescribed by a neurologist. It was with the start of taking trazodone that there was a feeling of crawling on the legs and sometimes on the hands. And also the desire to scratch the feet of the feet, that is, itching. This has never happened before. The neurologist says that from trazodone this can not be. Now I've stopped drinking trazodone. But now I'm afraid: what if these symptoms will remain forever? Has anyone else done this?
Thanks

Hello. I also have RLS although my tremors in the legs have never been serious, I´ve taken trazodon for many years to sleep, because I couldn't take hypnotics.
Trazodon is a sedative antidepressant, but it is not an SSRI (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor), these are harmful to RLS as they aggravate tremors and discomfort in the legs. Trazodon at low doses acts as a sedative of CNS and allows sleep even if it does not take effect antidepressantly.
That is the theory and this is confirmed to me by two different doctors and my own experience, which as I said I have taken and continue to take every night 100 mg to be able to sleep (a pill). But because each person is different in this disease, you may feel bad about this medication and aggravate your symptoms. In that case you should listen to your body and not keep taking it.
