Hi and it sounds as if this is causing you some distress.

I wonder, are you saying that you start feeling sickly and fuzzy in the evening and taking the gabapentin relieves it?

There's usually two main reasons why anybody feels "sickly". One is due to problems with the stomach or intestines.

The other is to with the nervous system and particularky the inner ear. This kind of sickliness arises from dizziness.

It is known that the side effects of gabapentin include dizziness and fuzziness in the head. This due to effects of the drug on the central nervous system.

However, if that were the case, I'd expect these symptoms to be worse after taking the gabapentin.

It does sound likely though, that your symptoms are associated with gabapentin in some way.

Hi merry xmas and thanks for your reply yes i get the horible feeling in my head wich is very hard to explain but its not nice atall and i go very pale and get sickly feeling about an hour befor i usualy take my 900mg dose of gabbapentin wich i have been on for about a year now starting to think it may be withdrawal grom the drug as it does say withdrawal starts from 12-48 from last dose iv had rls for about 8-9 years from what i remember and the gabbapentin works well but if these are the affects of not taking the drug or having to take it earlyer everynight wich will mean ill end up taking more than i am then i dont think its something i can cope with thaks again

Hi, Happy Christmas.

I was on Gabapentin for a long time (now Pregabalin). It took me a very long time to work out dosage and when to take it. I opted to take it about an hour before I went to bed, thus any nasty side affects would hopefully take place whilst I slept. Have you ever had shingles, if so, did you get vertigo with it, or have you ever been diagnosed with vertigo. I have Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), which I've now learned how to deal with, it's all to do with calcium crystals in the inner ear (I wont bore you), maybe look it up and then have a word with your doc - it's manageable - it's worth talking to your doc and asking to see an audiologist.

I can't remember having any withdrawal symptoms with gabapentin.

Hope you get this sorted as the dizzy, sick feeling can be horrible and worrisome.

All the best.

I'm searching for people like you on here! I have similar questions except I'm positive about the withdrawals, I get them severely from gabapentin about 15 hours after last 1200mg dose. The main problem is that you can't regulate your body temperature for example my feet will be freezing but soaked and sweat. The other main side effect or symptom I've noticed is I seem to go into more of a depression than already shows and if it's temporary it's long temporary because I've been through this a lot over the last 20 years and the only constant that I have is the crappy feeling side of it. The medicine, how effective it is, and all kinds of crazy different dosages have been all over the place and the only thing that happens is some pretty severe withdrawal symptoms. I need information on pregablin or a way to treat this so I can get off of this medicine all together... It sounds like you're having a problem unrelated to the gabapentin I do not think what you're describing sounds like withdrawals from it but I'm no doctor... Honestly, in my experience, just the fact that I have experience makes me a little more educated on it

I am taking pregabalin 400 mg at night and 159 mid morning . I walk funny . I need the indicine earlier in the am I wake at 4 am and can't go back to sleep . I'm very forgetful . extra depressed , inner ear issues . It's hard to see my Doctor right now she's in a different city .icant organize my thoughts. It's taken me hours to write this I also take Suboxone twice a day. My husband passes it out because I can't remember.. I am withdrawing from the suboxone very slowly. What could I take in place of the pregabalin ? I had a thought , maybe I could take the pregabalin if I'm not on suboxone . I can't take gabapentin . Thank you
