Does anyone know if this has the same constipation issues as other opioids?
Buprenorphine: Does anyone know if this... - Restless Legs Syn...
Buprenorphine
It does for me, but less so for others.
Almost nil, for at least one person I have spoken to, and who is on the same dose as I.

As it is such a good drug that it is worth grappling with if constipation is an issue for you.
Constipation is a side effect from Buprenorphine. I have to have bran every day on the Norspan Patch.
I was afraid of constipation when I started Buprenorphine 3 1/2 months ago. With the help of Magnesium the digestive system works as it should. Buprenorphine is reported to cause less to none constipation when compared to other opioids.
Dr. Buchfuhrer wrote (in his words): " it should not cause constipation but anything is possible."
I should think the bigger the doses of B. the more is the danger of constipation. In any case you should try to keep Bup. as low as possiible.
I’ve seen answers all over the place for people using buprenophine and my doc warned me of the potential, but I personally have not had issues. I did make a very specific effort to increase my water/hydration when I started though.
I know this post is 6 months old but just wanted to add my constipation is far less on 324 mg patch than on MST and Tramadol which it replaced.
