I’ve been taking Pregablin for nearly a month. 2 weeks on 75mg and now 2 weeks on 150mg. It started off great and could nearly go the whole night. Since a week ago they have completely stopped working and I’m back up about 10/12 times a night. Should I keep at 150mg for a bit longer or try 225mg?

Pregabalin problems
your experience is very similar to mine. When I began using Pregabalin, I could go through an entire night uninterrupted with RLS; however, the relief was for only a week. Its as if my body got adjusted to Pregabalin in a week's time. I took Pregabalin for 5 months before I concluded that it wasn't doing much. I have since switched from Pregab 150mg to Gabapentin 300mg. Again, I don't see much benefit but I do think that Pregab was helping my insomnia because on Gabapentin, I don't sleep so well.
Very strange, I might try 225mg tonight and see if that helps
Hi, it does take nearly a month to start working fully.
If you've also recently stopped taking a DA, then part of the problem may be withdrawals.
150mg is the minimum effective dose, you may need up to 400mg.
Ok thanks, I’ll maybe give it a few more days then see if I can’t up it a bit
Minimum effective dose of pregabalin is 150mg, but some people may need up to 400mg.
Minimum effective dose of gabapentin is 900mg.
It won't work if you don't take enough.
Isn't there the option to go up slower?
I think it only comes in 75mg tablets
It does come in 25mg, 50mg, 100 mg,200mg tablets and maybe more.
I have reduced from 250mg, down to 200mg as the higher dose was not working so well. I am now trying to reduce that down to 175mg but with varying results. I now sometimes sleep 7 hours but more often my legs start and am up at least once a night, only getting 4-5hrs at the most. It gradually wears me down, but I don’t know where else to go. I have tried the dopamine agonists and Tramadol which all caused augmentation. My GP said I could have the Pregabalin which at first worked well, it was like a miracle to sleep every night. That was about 18 months ago, but it’s all gone haywire.
I figure maybe the Pregabalin is augmenting as I do now sometimes get symptoms in the evening as well as in the night, which is why I am trying to reduce the dose. That and the weight gain, which is a horrible side effect!
Good luck.
Doctors have prescribed 225mg despite me asking for 200mg(will try and change this when I pick them up). They have issued it as 3 x 75mg to be taken throughout the day. Is this correct? I was just taking them 2hrs before bedtime.
