Hello Sandee007 - i suffer from neuropathy in my toes as well as RLS and I think there is a significant correlation between the two conditions. I find it varies with different footwear I have so it's not just down to a medical condition. It doesn't affect my balance or ability to walk at all. When I occasionally get restless arms, they do feel heavy, but if I just move them a little (preparing dinner, going for a walk, doing jobs around the house) it goes. Sorry this probably isn't any help, but I wanted to just reply to your email. Take care and stay strong.
Thanks for the info...I have more then 100 shoes...because of this...
My heavy arms and legs go away with stretching and walking.
By biggest problem is like internal spasticity that makes it difficult to walk.
I can walk but it is as if my muscles are to short and are pulling me back...
Next week they are going to check for tarsal tunnel and morton neuroma...
RLS itself doesn’t cause numbness but neuropathy ( damage to nerves ) does & can also affect balance. I have family type RLS and also a diagnosed peripheral neuropathy which makes the RLS worse. My neuropathy causes numbness, poor balance & some weakness. It can be caused by lots of different things & needs investigated to find out. I don’t know which country you are in but I advise you see a dr & ask to be referred to a neurologist. I used to be a GP. I have learnt a lot more about neuropathy since I got my own. One of the commonest causes is diabetes ( mine isn’t )
