“7 lifestyle changes to improve restless leg syndrome”
Having been woken up by what I can only describe as restless body, imagine my surprise when the first new e mail message I saw was about being woken up by restless legs! The e mail was from diabetes.co.uk and the headline was as above. Sceptic that I am I will read on though and summarise in a later post what the advice is.

I am replying to my own posting but have now looked at the seven bits of advice. Why these have come from diabetes.co. Uk is that many people with diabetes also have RLS:
1. Have a warm bath
2. Avoid stimulants like tea or coffee before bed time
3. Do things like word puzzles
4. Have sex
5. Stick to the same bed time
6. Have a leg massage
7. Get moving
These bits of folk lore seem to be trivialising RLS but I guess for some the advice may be useful
I've tried massages to help my legs but 9/10 I end up with it triggering a RL attack and there's nothing relaxing about trying to stay on a massage bed while in the midst of an attack!
The reason why many diabetics suffer from rls is because their rls is caused by high consumption of sugar, which is also the reason why they're diabetic.
You can become diabetic without a necessarily high intake of sugar! I am only too aware that some people have noted improvement with reducing sugar intake and I was one of them. However, high intake of sugar isn't the only reason one develops diabetes. It's simplistic to say that it does.
If you read what I wrote again I didn't say that all diabetes causes sugar, but that their diabetes was caused by sugar. Maybe I should have written that sugar contributed, rather than caused.
