I have a diagnosis of bilateral RLS and have been receiving treatment of Sifrol for several years which medication is helpful if I can avoid augmentation. Lately I have noticed my hands are frequently tremulous which I cannot control. This is getting more frequent and more pronounced lately. Wondering if anyone else is suffering from the same thing as I'm not sure if this is a side effect of the Sifrol or something else.

Hi, I've been taking Pramipexole for years.
I do get a very slight tremor in my right hand sometimes if I hold it in a particular position, but I also get a pain there. It's been there for years and it's not getting any worsr. Left hand OK.
For me, I don't think it's due to Pramipexole and it's not listed as a side effect.
I'm afraid it sounds like Parkinsons disease. It could be a "Parkinsonic symptom" rather than the actual condition. Some drugs induce "Parkinsonism" but not Pramipexole.
The tremor in Parkinsonism is an "intention" tremor. i.e. it happens for example when you reach out for something, not when your hand is relaxed.
If you're worried I suggest you see your doctor.
Thank you for responding and the advice given, I will follow it up.
Hi Kelirock, there is the outside possibility that Parkinson's type symptoms can be caused by aspartame (Nutrasweet). Thought I'd mention in case you drink diet soda or eat anything with it as an ingredient. Like Minerva said, hand tremors are 2 types- while your hands are resting, and while your trying to use them, but from what I see, I think it may be the other way around- Parkinson's tremors are resting tremors, while tremors while you're trying to do something are more apt to be age related. But if it should apply, you'd need to look more into it, just spouting what I saw awhile back. Your doctor can surely figure it out, though he/she may not know about the aspartame connection.
Interesting about the aspartame, I do have a glass of diet pepsi max per day. There is no history of Parkinsons in my family. I think I have resting tremors although I have noticed the tremors when I am trying to do something. It could be a combination of medication I am taking also. I can have the pharmacist look at the drug interactions. Thank you for your reply, this is such a good site for information.
Apologies kelirock, Parkinsonic tremor is tremor at rest. There are other types of tremor caused by other dconditions as well. I still suggest seeing your doc if your'e still worried.
Thank you lv2sew, I apologise, you are correct, Parkinsonic tremor is tremor at rest.
When I went through Augmentation on Ropinirole I experienced twitching in my hands, arms, back and face. That’s how I knew I was augmenting.
It may be Augmentation but get it checked out anyway.
