Finally hearing it had a name!

I totally agree with all of you regarding the lack of understanding from the health care community! At least it has a name now.

Before it was acknowledged as a real medical condition I went to a number of doctors who had never heard of it and they all

concluded it must be a menopause symptom!

When a neurologist told me years ago that it actually has a name I sat down and wept in his office! I knew at last I wasn’t going crazy.

That must be a great relief. My story was similar,I knew I had RLS but it wasn' t until I saw a neurologist that I found out it could be treated.

I had suffered with RLS for years before I saw a tiny article in a women's magazine about Ekbom Syndrome. I got so excited to have a name for it - I've got a syndrome, I'm not the only one!
