I am new here. I have had RLS for two years, following a partial knee replacement. Quite by chance, I have discovered recently that wearing pressure flight stockings - the kind you wear on long flights up to the knee to prevent blood clots - at night has been an enormous help. I have no idea whether wearing these socks on a regular basis is safe - I haven't checked with a doctor - but so far it hasn't done me any harm, and it stops RLS from waking me up or preventing me going to sleep.
I put the socks on at night and take them off during the day, and sleep much better!

Hi Kinkajou. As you have secondary RLS, there is hope that it will disappear over time.
I hope so.
Hello! I like my compression stockings; they are my first go-to remedy when my legs start acting up at night! After I put them on, though, I normally have to take the off a couple hours later because my legs start to hurt. I’m not sure if it’s related to the stockings, but I suspect it is since the pain eventually subsides after I’ve taken them off. I can keep them on for much longer during the day, which brings me to my theories that 1. these stockings are really meant to be worn when the legs are vertical instead of horizontal and 2. some brands are used for things more powerful for RLS, and one of my brands is it (I have 3 brands— 2 of one brand (can keep on for long time without causing pain) and one of another (can cause pain after a couple hours)). What do you think of my theories?
