I was diagnosed with RLS when I was 20. And I've had the extreme version of it which was also in my arms and neck. I'm now 40 and do not suffer from it any more because of a tablet called subutex which is used for heroin withdrawal in addicts. I started taking them 3 years ago and am currently taking 16mg per day. Within 35 minutes of taking it for the first time the RLS completely disappeared. I stopped taking them after 18 months and within 48hrs of stopping them the RLS returned with vengence, so 2 days later i started taking them again and again within 35 mins it completely stopped again and I'm still taking them today. I honestly believe the subutex saved my life.

Thank you for that information David, I have never come across that before.
I take methadone, which is also for heroin withdrawal, and that saved me from a million suicidal thoughts.
Were you on anything prior to that, and who prescribed it?
I was actually smoking heroine to control the RLS... I know I know stupid move, but at the time I assure you it actually helped but didn't completely stop it. I ended up getting myself registered with a place called C.D.A.T to get away from the heroine and that is where I got the subutex prescribed to me, and since then no heroine and no RLS.
I am taking a version of this (Suboxone:8 mg buprenorphine/2 mg Naloxone) 1 sublingual tablet each morning. I also take one 0.125 mg Pramipexole in the morning and one 600 mg Gabapentin at bed time. BRILLIANT! This is by far the best control I have had over this malady. Long may we benefit.
I tried pre gabapentin and gabapentin and it actually worsened the RLS. Why are you taking the gabapentin if u dont mind me asking, if it's for the RLS have you ever just tried the subutex/suboxone on it's own. There are some nasty side effects with gabapentin including actually bringing on Parkinson's disease which is what they are used to control.
