Positive on life after pramipexole!

Hi

I’m now 6 weeks off pramipexole, my ferritin is 135 after upping my iron regime (which had slipped whilst I was on pramipexole) and I’ve been taking 100mg Gabapentin at bedtime.

No evening symptoms, I don’t sleep straight through but legs seem to settle quickly after a couple of wake ups (I don’t seem to need the codeine and coffee- yes, I’m one of those oddities, that I was using to settle)

I’m starting to wonder if I actually need the Gabapentin as it’s such a small dose!

I feel that I’m getting enough sleep now (nice not to be tearful and foggy during the day!)

There has been lots about iron in the recent posts, I take iron bisglycinate x2 with a piece of fruit every other day. I’m convinced it’s been a great help.

So good to hear positive news! Indeed, you can always try without the gaba. And put it back in when things disprove. I have done the same, but just feel better when I keep taking it. I assume that in my case it somewhat offsets the (slight in my case) insomnia caused by the oxycodon slow release I have to take to calm my legs.

Keep the good work! I hope it lasts. Already sleeping better makes such a positive difference.
