Living with pain
Hi madpull , welcome. That sounds like a lot on your plate. Do you realise that some conditions may actually cause or bring about RLS? Low iron is foremost, but also peripheral neuropathy, some low back problems, varicose veins to name a few. And then there are many medications that have RLS as a side-effects, such as most antihistamines and antidepressants.
Have a look around; there is a useful search function. And don’t hesitate to ask specific questions. We all try to help by sharing our knowledge and personal experiences.
What the video of me at the sleep clinic showed was me physically taking off the bed with my restless leg syndrome so I just don't know what to do after I've most things but so far not a lot to work
My wife had apprised me that I was kicking like crazy every night. After a quadruple bypass, I had a sleep study and found that I stopped breathing 90+ times. You didn't mention anything about CPAP machine. CPAP is fabulous for sleep apnea. RLS is a horse of a different color. I am on at least the 6th medication. All lead to argumentation. The new neurologist wants to put me on straight gabapentin for RLS - that train left about 8 years ago. Now use gabapentin to quiet neuropathy in feet from diabetes. The negotiation now begins in earnest to find a treatment for RLS. Last weekend was in emergency and hospital - couldn't get tramadol or pramipexole - walked the hospital halls all night.
To be honest I would really like to go back on ropinirole. I don't drive anymore and I would take the meds and then be out for 6 hours or so. Not bad as far as I'm concerned. Better than being up and down, up and down all night with prami.
I going to start looking into marijuana.
This is not a sprint. Keep the long view in mind. Hah! I should take my own advice.
