Definitely.😥

For some it can. Not for me

I've heard a few mention it here and as a high sugar consumer never thought it effected me. Last night I had an unusually high amount of sugar and up until 5am was kicking and pacing :(

Sugar is inflammatory and I have found inflammation makes RLS worse. Having a diet with lots of veg, especially greens and some low sugar fruits is particularly anti-inflammatory. Your best bet is to go without sugar (or use stevia or xylitol) as a substitute. Both are quite natural and not inflammatory. Try for a couple of weeks and so whether you feel any better.

Yes forme. I cut out sugar completely last Christmas and since have had very few mild episodes of rls, those being when I have eaten a lot of high carb foods. That suggests that it is something to do with raised blood sugar. I had previouly discovered that an artificial preservative also triggers it for me.

Last nite had pancakes with lots of syrup(2 hours before bed)and had first nite in quite awhile with no RLS. From reading the posts on here, it makes me wonder if there is really just one ‘trigger’ for all.

in reply toWoody4

There is no one trigger for all. Some have the same triggers some dont.
