Hi everybody!!I am currently on neupro 1 mg ,1.5 mg of clonazepam (divided in 3 doses) and 200 mg of tegretol(carbomazepine).Lyrica wasnt helping me at all so i stopped it. I am doing well.

My question is :what if i augment again?Can i go back to pram?

Hi Katerina, really pleased to hear you are doing well. I too have returned to a low dose of dopamine agonist and worry a lot about augmenting again. I re- started it in about early February this year.

The tactic I am adopting (in case it helps) is to keep my serum ferritin as high as possible (there is a link between low iron and augmentation) and stay on the lowest dose of the d/a (in my case 0.044mg pramipexole). I also take regular breaks from it. I was taking it on only 5 days out of 7 - I reckon that as I am on a low dose I could go on and off it in that way without too much of a shock to my system although the days when I didnt take it were a write-off. Then over the summer I took a 6 week break (which was very difficult) and now I am back on it again. It definitely gives me the best relief but I am absolutely determined that I won’t increase above the dose I am on now. If symptoms get worse I plan to stop it for a while in the hope of resetting my sensitivity.

I think the worst thing you can do with dopamine agonists is to increase the dose ....
