Has anyone else experienced anxiety as a side effect of pramipexole? Could this be augmentation?

Side effects are not the same as augmentation.

Yes-- anxiety is a side effect of Prami as are a number of other happenings. Compulsive activities would be the main ones.

Augmentation usually only occurs after taking the drug for some time,- though, affects people after different lengths of time. It simply is that one needs to take more medication to achieve relief, and symptoms of rls occur earlier in the day and cover more parts of the body.

You should be taking the lowest possible dose (0.088) and no more than will achieve relative peace at night. Don't be aiming for 100% relief by taking too high a dose and so getting augmentation so much faster.

Good luck.

I have been on Mirapex/pramipexole for many years. Was taking a higher dose which did cause compulsive urges, sudden sleepiness, etc. I tried other rx’s but got very depressed and anxious. So back on pramipexole at a lower dose with hydrocodone for backup. Two nights ago I had my worst night ever with RLS. Now today I have anxiety. I’m so tired of being uncomfortable in one way or the other all of the time.

I think that for many of us it is a built-in part of the disease. It is for me, and always has been.

You can try Trazadone for anxiety. It works sometimes and do not causes RLS (Deprax is the brand in Spain)

I take trazadone at bedtime to help me sleep. I just communicated with my internist to get a referral to a neurologist. I am having so many side effects from the pramipexole. This is an insidious disease. And the meds are almost as bad. I’m very sensitive to the ones I’ve tried.

I leave all meds in december 2017 except Trazadone. I have tried.many options and treatments. No one works for me.

I arrived to conclusion that my major trigger is stress. Now I take Stilnox since one month ago together with trazadone. From 3-5 hours/night and 3-7 interruptions now I Slept up to 7 hours and at maximum 4 interrptions. Not bad

Currently I'm trying to know if I have some side effects

My RLS is.genetic, my father probably hat.

Good look
