After 2+1/2 months off pram i experience muscle spasms all over the body while trying to fall asleep. The spasms calm down when i sit down (and disappear when moving) but my lower left leg still jerks all the time. What could this be?Could it be PLMD?I am on lyrica and tramadol. However my nights are still rls free!!
Thank you!

PLMD is unconscious movements, but there is also such thing as PLMW (Periodic Limb Movement During Wakefulness). I don’t understand how that is different from RLS, though...
They were around 70 so i recently (about 2 weeks) have started taking 2 tablets of iron bis per day.The strange thing is that i still have rls free nights but i experience this during he day.
I am in a somewhat similar situation where my nights have (for the most part) been good, but I am now experiencing a spreading of symptoms to other areas (mainly my back, but also sometimes my chin and right arm) and I am getting symptoms during the day. It’s highly frustrating, isn’t it? I’m not quite sure what to make of it all.My first thought for you was augmentation, but that wouldn’t make sense since you are off the Pramipexole. My second thought was a symptom of withdrawal from Pramipexole, but that doesn’t make sense either given the time lapse. Grrr..... So sorry you’re experiencing this. Hopefully others will come with more ideas.
(BTW, PLMD can only be diagnosed by getting a sleep study done).
Jess,be careful with the spreading of the symptoms because that was what i had exactly when augmented. My nights were good but i had a spreading of the symptoms and experienced them all day.Symptoms had started to come earlier and earlier and at last i experienced them all day.The only time pram helped was at night. I had tried to take pram also during the day to find out if rls just got worse and i hadnt augmented on pram but it turned out that pram at daytime didnt help me at all.It made me worse.Strange enough to have good nights while augmented but that is how it happened.
Oh, darn. Ok. So your augmentation was the same? Drat....
Long and confusing story, but I am going back and forth between accepting that I am augmenting. It is sinking in, and now your account has helped drive the nail in even further. (Don’t mean to make you feel bad here. Actually, quite the opposite). Thank you.
Jess, I had the same. Ropinirole worked fairly well at night, but couldn’t sit still any more during the day. And RLS symptoms towards the end of the night, which is usually the most ‘quiet’ time. So sorry for you.
If I may be a bit pushy, but I think you should start/continue to do your research and draw up a plan (a and b) and then discuss it with your neurologist. I’ll be happy to help sorting things out.
Jess,i am sorry to tell you you are probably augmenting but its better to know and get action about that.I ll be glad to help you.Dont hesitate to ask me anything.
