Thanks for that post. I definitely suffered DAWS for months after coming off Ropinirole and my GP thought I was being a drama queen. Wish I had seen that article and I could have handed it over to her with a smug grin

Happy New Year

Noted Irina and thanks.

Hi Neverquitting. Great website. Very informative . Plan to give copy to my PCP (Primary Care Physician). Six months ago she gave me a prescription for Pramipexole which I took for a week before landing in the emergency room with a drug reaction. Stopped taking and have refused to try other meds she recommended. I thought she was a good PCP but several things lately have made me rethink my opinion. I remembered tonight what she said when she gave me the prescription. (At the time I had no knowledge of rls meds and little knowledge about rls.) Her comment, and I quote, was "This med will probably help your rls for a while but then will most likely stop working." End of conversation. WHAT AN UNDERSTATEMENT!!!. It's amazing how-at least here in the US some substances are outlawed but commercial moneymaking legal drugs with God-awful side effects are not only allowed, but often pushed on an unsuspecting public. Thanks for listening.

It’s criminal. So many lives ruined, they don’t care. At least your dr knew ( and disclosed) that the drug only works for a little while! I had to find that one out by reading dozens of research articles from the manufacturer! Most drs just keep upping the dose. I was on it for 9 years until I found out . It’s been 3 years. Still am not back to myself BUT I slept all night it’s just a bedtime epson salt bath! While on mirapex my last sleep study had me at 30x severe.
