Good news for me

I have had restless legs for more than 20 years. I just didn’t know what it was. Mirapex works after a while but when it starts I need immediate relief. Chamomile tea 2 bags in 1 cup works wonders and the response is fast. If it is especially bad I drink 2 cups. If I get the horrible cramping a quick glass of water containing a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar. That works immediately. I have weekly massages and acupuncture also.

Wow! That is a new one to me. I must try them both. Thanks for the tip. Is the acupuncture for restless legs? I know firm massage is good for RLS symptoms.

accupuncture is for restless legs...there are also chinese herbs

That's a great tip I'm going to try then, thank you. Turning the RL off asap so can get back to sleep is also very necessary. How long till it returns usually? I.e. How many hours till the next wake up?

I've been looking into Tens machines. There are so many out there, some cheap, some expensive. What type do you recommend?

Hi Alison, I got mine from Lloyds Pharmacy several years ago. Model:AD-2011. I can't remember how much it was but if more than £20 I probably wouldn't have bought it (Sgrooge). Pack says Lloyds Pharmacy Ltd, Coventry CV2 2TX lloydspharmacy.com

Thank you all very much for these great tips and advice. Today was a dead loss as I was so tired but I'm going to make myself go out tomorrow and buy both camomile and the TENS.

Yes, it's a real shame Neil about the Pregabalin for me. At first it was a complete miracle at only 50mg at night but then gradually the effect wore off and I needed more and more. At 150mg I had poor balance and used to get very hungry and shaky and that dose stopped working too. I took it for around 7 years I think. It was hard to come off as I got more restless as it reduced. I would label it as some sort of augmentation. But it was great for a while and allowed me to keep working.

seppamaki, thank you. Your cammomile tea worked for me last night and I was actually in bed early! Great tip, I hope the effect continues.
