I've been on modified release ropinirol 2mg for 3 weeks now and was put on ramipril 3 days ago for my high blood pressure. today at work i went dizzy which is a known side effect of the ramipril and then 10 mins later my rls kicked in and for the first time it affected my hands also. my legs have been shaking for nearly 7 hours now. doctor has given me valium to calm it down as he thinks it is my anxiety playing up. it's never lasted more than 15 minutes before when it's been anxiety. feeling scared my rls is escaping my control.

That sounds awful! Have you tried to look up ramipril on the rlshelp.org website? Look on the treatment page (in the menu left, then scroll down quite a bit). Many meds may exacerbate RLS, maybe ramipril is one of them.

Hope your rls subsides soon!

So sorry to hear your story; it must be miserable for you. I am taking Ramipril and was put on Ropinirol. It had no effect on me apart from giving me restless shoulders as well. I changed to Rotigotine which works about 95% of the time. Thank goodness !

If I had had a choice ,I would have started with Gabapentin rather than Ropinerole.Ropinirole has bad side effects,Augmentation, compulsive behaviors,..I am on Metoprolol for blood pressure. My RLS is under control for now but my anxiety from stress is off the charts.Going to psychiatrist to be evaluated for new RLS Friendly drugs for insomnia, and anxiety and possibly bi-polar disorder.
