Tired julie
Are you still on the Amitryptoline?
That is really bad for the night jitters for most people.
Cheers.
Yeah apparently for my ibs ??? 50mg so I take 1 at night 1 in morning it's now 4.41 and I'm down stairs were cold floors are pacing around turned to off load shit I need to go back on ropinrole for my dancing π legs π Xx
No, stay off ropinirole and the amitriptyline. Ropinirole causes increase in RLS. You need new meds like a good painkiller ( codeine or tramadol) or pregabalin.
I'm as confused as Raffs. What's a mama memory? Are you in USA? Is it a memorial day for your Mum?
ππ no I'm from Newcastle I was very tired when I wrote that sorry it's my mams memory today πͺ Emotional day and very tired I'm on both and pregabalin and now peppermint tablets π I'm a bit sick off the whole situation and sick of site of doctors x
Oh lawd sorry for that. As a scouser living in London I realise phrases from my home town are not understood by everyone else so assume it's the same in Newcastle. Raffs and I had no idea what a Mam's memory was but I think it must be a sad anniversary? If so, hope you get through it ok.
Just don't be tempted back onto the ropinirole and get off the amitriptyline- it kept me awake with severe RLS 24/7 when my idiot neurologist thought he'd add it into the mix.
Like Pippins suggests, get a referral to Dr Kirstie Anderson on Newcastle.
Maybe try binge watching of something so it takes your mind of it?
Sending sleeping dust..
B.
I'm with Madlegs1, you need to look at the amitriptyline. If you are taking it for IBS I'd advise stopping and using the likes of Colpermin instead.
Ah thanks I'm still up had half hour kip so I'm waiting for doctors to open see if can get appointment some time today I'm not a happy chick today and it's my mama memory so it's gonna be a long long day π΄ Xxx
What's a mama memory?
Be careful the Dr doesn't try to fob you off with another antidepressant, by and large they all effect RLS, and even if they don't imho I'd avoid them when possible especially for conditions other than depression.
There are other approaches and I see Food Map is one of them and that is meant to help RLS too:

Keep us posted on how you get on at your GP. Best of luck.
Hiya need to correct that it's my mams memory today a bit tired writing that early hours I'm back on ropinrole so hopefully my legs won't be dancing tonite and I might get a decent sleep gave me peppermint tablets for ibs I'm sick of sight of doctors at the moment now to see wot physio can do on thurs for my back god I can winge on sorry xxx
I've just read the NHS post you put on thankyou so much really helped π X
Hiya I'm on amitripline for depression π« and he thought it would help with ibs but I've told them it hasn't so gave me a peppermint tablet can only wait and see π
I've seen the colpermin, (peppermint oil) deal with IBS quite well, in fact iirc peppermint is good for a number of things.
There are better suited anti-depressants info on which can be found here:
rlshelp.org
Other ways to help depression, (and indeed RLS) include diet, yoga, CBT, EFT and meditation/mindfulness which are all well worth exploring.
After experiencing a traumatic and consequently I ended up having anxiety about it and finding it playing on my mind for several months afterwards and my mood was slipping. An old mate of mine, (a right loon from the good old days) was visiting and we got chatting and I mentioned it.
He said he did EFT and that my sort of issue could be helped. As a devout doubting Thomas I tried it expecting failure, (sure wasn't he just a mad b*****d that could do little but party and knowing tapping the back of my hand would do nothing), however to my delight in the space of about 4/5 minutes the anxiety and stress I had been carrying was gone! I could think about the incident but without the emotional charge. I was gob-smacked to say the least.
Any way long story short healing can be found in unexpected places.
Take care.
I have RLS, PLMS, Cervical Radiculopathy, Multifocal Dystonia and Trigeminal Neuralgia. The RLS causes far more problems than all the others combined. I am currently taking Baclofen (for Cervical Radiculopathy and Dystonia), Gabapentin for all of the above. Ropinirole, for RLS, Temazepam, to help me sleep, Tramadol for pain, and 800 mg of Ibuprophen for neck pain, because the Tramadol doesn't really work. When I developed rebound due to the Ropinirole, my neurologist recommended that I take another Ropinirole at 2 a.m. The Temazepam helps more than anything else. I'm not sure of all of those diagnoses. All of those medicines have made me narcoleptic, which makes it difficult to get anything done. I have fallen asleep at the wheel many times when driving the 20 minutes it takes to get home (as many as 8 times.
If you are getting rebound -or what I would think of as Augmentation (please read: sleepreviewmag.com/2015/02/... ) taking more of the DA will only make things worse. In the case of augmentation we need to come off the DA's and stay off for a few months, replacing with other drugs.
Have you looked into Iron? Take a look through the search engine with gentle iron for some food for thought.
I was doing that falling asleep behind the wheel to the extent that I now rarely drive unaccompanied, (even thought I get a bit of a warning I couldn't life with hurting/killing anyone). Its hard to know if it is down to my health or the drugs used to treat it . Sometimes it feels like you're damned if you do and you're damned if you don't in this life!
Julie as you live in Newcastle you are close to one of the UK top RLSdoctors. Dr Kirstie Anderson at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Newcastle. She has spoke a the RLS. UK annual general meeting so knows her stuff. Ask your GP to refer you x
