No more narcotics

Greetings

I'm finally stopping Narcotics for pain, and going to get on lyrica. My body needs a rest. I am praying and believing that I can get through these changes and my pain will be controlled with Lyrics.

Any Advice is welcome☺

Do you have RLS or pain of another type? What narcotics are you on?

Withdrawal from opioids like oxycontin can result in RLS but that is only temporary and will subside once through withdrawal. Any withdrawal from drugs should be done slowly & with your Doctor's knowledge. Diazepam will help with anxiety/panic attacks & loperamide will help with diarrhoea resulting from opioid withdrawal.

I wish you all the best with your journey coming off narcotics. It will be difficult but is entirely achievable and you have clearly a lot of resolve. It is not entirely clear from your post if you are taking narcotics for RLS or for some other form of pain. It is possible that Lyrica will control the RLS - it certainly works for some people although often in conjunction with other medications.

If you suffer from RLS habitually you should check that your serum ferritin levels are high (like close to or over 100). This will help with symptoms that may currently be controlled by the narcotics. Good luck!
