I have read where some people on certain meds for RLS can get a compulsion for gambling. But since taking Myrapex I have a compulsion to eat late at night--- sometimes binge eat almost as if I am hypnotized. I've gained 40 pounds. Has anyone ever heard of Myrapex causing overeating?

Yes- it is just one of many effects of Pramipexol that people complain of. Usually only from higher doses than would be prescribed for rls.

What dose are you on?

I suffered with an insatiable appetite when taking both mirapexin and later with ropinerole, this along with compulsive spending make dopamine agonists unsuitable for me. I developed these symptoms within a few weeks of starting these medicines and was on doses prescribed for rls.

I started on Maripex and had never gambled before any more than a friendly poker game once in a while, but gradually I found myself going to a casino when I should have been at work.My business suffered and I lost all my pension money as well as loading up all my credit cards. One day I found I had no more money to gamble with and just about that time the Manufacturer announced they had known that there was an urge to do all the things you were once mildly interested in, to access. By then I had lost my edge in life and am now 80 and have not regained my competitive drive, nor do i expect to. My RLS dominates my life and staying free of that feeling is all I can think about. I guess You could say it ruined my life.
