Alternative ways to improve.

I have been an Alternative Therapist for 25yrs. I have been treating RLS with Reflexology combined with a short session of meditation on breath - to completely relax the body and mind. As home remedies I advise them to improve on breath meditation during the daytime while doing simple tasks like walking, sitting or even waiting for a bus! I also advise them to massage their own feet with an inexpensive cream like Aqueous and when massaging they should go between all toes, under and over, around the ankle and cover the whole feet. Both feet should be done this way daily before bed-time. You really do not have to know the skills of reflexology to do this.

Those who have followed these have improved immensely. Advise given on RLS-UK on on bedtime procedures are really good. Yoga and Tai-Chi are excellent ways to relax the muscles and mind. Avoid watching violent/sad programmes especially before bedtime. There are good and beautiful things still happening in this world. Ditch the negatives and do not get caught up in things that you have no control of. Avoid Alcohol/fermented drinks/food. Eat fresh food and drink plenty of water.

Great advice--- for those, for whom it works!

However not everyone can benefit from this regime- I am big into mindfulness- but rls just blasts right through .

But it is certainly desirable to keep away from medications and everything should be tried.

RLS is such a complicated syndrome that no one remedy will work for everyone - there are too many causes.
