I have just watched this programme on Channel 5 and was most disappointed in what I perceived to be a very shallow evaluation of such a devastating illness. No mention was made of the causes of RLS. No mention was made of the various medications both medicinal and natural which help to alleviate symptoms for some people. or the severe repercussions of certain medications in order to get a modicum of relief for such discomfort. Little emphasis was given to the appalling aftermath of having walked the floor, bouncing of the walls with desperate tiredness ,night after night and its consequences during the following daytime .Most importantly no information was given about what research is being undertaken to assist in the alleviation of this tortuous ailment

I think that some consultation with the many knowledgeable people on this site who suffer from RLS and have taken the trouble to research this ailment would have made for a more informative and worthwhile documentary

fully agree Maddymac66, it was like there was no hope no help, and the only optioninas to learn to live with it "Live with it" that is a joke, you dont live with RLS, you; suffer with RLS. I have some medication that helps me greatly, and i would have been long ago gone had i not. That poor old pensioner, was he given any hope, IHe, was suffering beyond whatever i have seen. When they never offered something to relieve his nightmare, i had to ge to bed, a i felt their lack of depth into the subject, made me feel helpless . Did not even see the end. was any medication discussed

Restless legs syndrome (RLS) is a disorder that causes a strong urge to move one's legs. There is often an unpleasant feeling in the legs that improves somewhat with moving them. Occasionally the arms may also be affected. The feelings generally happen when at rest and therefore can make it hard to sleep. Due to the disturbance in sleep, people with RLS may have daytime sleepiness, low energy, irritability, and a depressed mood. Additionally, many have limb twitching during sleep. Restless leg syndrome may resolve if the underlying problem is addressed. Otherwise treatment includes lifestyle changes and medication.

I have suffered from RLS twice in my life, and both times I cured it quickly with a simple exercise using the exercise machine. There are many exercises you can do with a Bullworker but the one that treats RLS is the one where a foot is placed in both straps on both sides, and then the legs are forced apart against the pressure of the straps that are attached to springs. The strengthening of the leg muscles will alleviate the RLS symptoms in just a few weeks with regular use, just follow the exercise sheet instructions to increase strength in the offending muscles.
