Silly question but am very new to restless leg syndrome have been put on pramipexole I also suffer with fibromyalgia my question is what is augmentation as an seeing this word a lot over the last week with rls thank you in advance for any info

Hi there is am currently taking Pramipexole 180 mcg along with Codeine 30 mg and it is working really well. I hope you find it helps too. Good luck and don't forget to watch the C5 programme on Tuesday 4th April 9pm.

Pramipexole worked incredibly well for me for years, but recently I have been having hellish symptoms all night every night, and also my arms were playing up. I learned about augmentation on here and have now reduced my dosage and added magnesium supplement. So far so good. Watch this space lol!

Some friends have recommended magnesium foot soaks, and magnesium oil sprayed on to the legs. Has anyone any experience of this?

I have used magnesium oil sprayed on, usually only at night if I need it. It is funny how on some places on my skin (such as my shoulder for which I used it for muscular soreness) and the base of my spine (for RLS) it does not prickle, but when I put some on my leg it just kept prickling and I eventually washed it off. Magnesium cream does not prickle, but I have heard its magnesium content is much less. One needs to experiment.

Otherwise, I take magnesium orally.
