Hi yes I have Graves Disease and my daughter who also has RLS has Palindromic Arthritis. My mother and cousin have RLS but don't have an autoimmune condition. We all simply have the genetic form of RLS and there's no evidence to suggest that RLS and autoimmune conditions are connected.

Hi Pipps,

Thanks for the reply. Sorry to hear about all the conditions in your family. Your pharmacy drawer must be as big as mine!

Best wishes,

Elizabeth

Ha yes. I am sorry that you are dealing with RA it can be a dreadful condition. My daughter has a 70 % chance of her Palindromic Arthritis morphing into RA, such a worry. Take care x

Sorry to hear about your daughter. My 8 year old had problem with leg pains at night for years, investigated but nothing found. Then they just stopped suddenly. I did pray for healing, so maybe it was a miracle. Praying for your daughter to be free from disease.

I have been diagnosed with Inflammatory Arthritis, and Fibromyalgia. Take less medications then the doctor tries to give me but I just don't want all that junk going in my body. The meds don't stop the pain entirely and since they can't stop the progression, I tend to just go through it. I am on Mirapex and Neopro for the RLS. Still breaks through on occasion but I don't want to increase the medicine.

It sounds like you're being very sensible about your meds. I hope things stay stable for you.

Yes Elizabeth. I have Multiple Sclerosis. My sister, cousin and Aunt also have MS and my mother and brother have Rheumatoid Arthritis. Mother also had auto immune blood disorder called ITP which was sorted with 6 months of steroids.

Clearly very dodgy genes in my family. My paternal aunt has RLS as well. Sure there's a link.

It does sound like there's a genetic element for some people.

My wife had RA until she switched to an all plant-based diet guided by Dr John McDougall as many of his patients have done. Worth a one month try as it either works by then or not. Quick intro in non-verbal comic book form called Food Poisoning, along with science behind RA and animal based foods at drmcdougall.com

This sounds interesting. I might have to give it a go. Thanks.

Hi Fdesign

Lovely to hear from you. You put it so well, how we survive with these diseases, and have to choose to get through each day, and find happiness and peace where we can. We have a deep struggle, but that means we appreciate every bit of good moments we find.

Praying with you!

Elizabeth
