Hi everyone, would anyone like to give me an estimate of a schedule for reducing my dose down from 8mg to 3 or below? My doctor has given me Pregabalin and Targinact to pick up the slack, but what sort of reduction should I be looking at ? 1mg a week?

Rotigatine is a dopamine agonist. If you are trying to get off it , I assume it is because of augmentation, in which case you need to get off it completely.
Generally one should be able to get of such medication within a fortnight , especially with the help of your new choices of medicines.
You seem to have a switched on Doctor who has prescribed you aopiate to combat the withdrawal symptoms , and a neuropathic med for controlling the RLS.
Whatever advice he has given you , I would be inclined to follow. A shortacting sleeping pill might be beneficial for a few nights if needed.
There are ' recipes ' out there for 'detoxing' which you may find helpful. Just be prepared for a week or two of mild discomfort. And be kind to those arond you. Or go live on a deserted island for a while .😅😆

Hard the tell you how long it will take to detox from your dopamine med, It can be weeks or months. just depends on the person. How you reduce the mgs is usually done slowly, you might find 1mg a week too much, try it and see is really the answer. I am glad you have a opiate to help with the withdrawals. Its usual to get right off of a dopamine med if you are augmenting on it. Then it can be possible to just take the Pregabalin and the Targinact if you find they are working for you.
Hi as you have Targinact and Pregablin then 1mg drop per week sounds ok. If you find yourself struggling on that then you could stay at each drop longer . The Pregablin is one that builds up in the system to reach its full potential so maybe go slow at first until it builds up. We all react to varying degrees when dopamine is dropped so it's hard to predict how long you will need to stay on each drop. My guess is the first drops will be the easiest. Good luck let us know how you go. You may decide that you want /need to get off the patch altogether if your doctor is willing to prescribe the Targinact and Pregablin long term . I notice ftom an article on augmentation, that Rotigatine is offered as a substitute for DAs , even though it is itself one. Any one know the reason for this.

Madlegs, the only thing i cant think of is because the Neupro patch is a slow release med over 24hrs and has a lower chance of augmentation. Altho i have seen people have augmentation from it, but they are mostly people who are taking way above the recommended dose of 3mg.
