Ah, A Black Lab, he's a wee beauty.

We had Shane, a black Labrador for 17 years, they have a lovely nature about them. I do hope he gets well again.

Thanks Kaarina. J

Hi Jose, Freddie is lovely isn't he and it makes it easier, for me anyway, to send good, strong thoughts when you know what he looks like.

Hi thankyou everyone! !!! Freddies temperature has come down a little .The fluid from around his joints is showing that he has antibodies to an autoimmune condition which causes Poly Neuropathy and Poly Arthritis which would account for his inability to stand because of the pain. Without a spinal tap they cannot confirm the Meningitis but are treating him for it regardless because of his symptoms. He is on massive doses of Steroids to try and bring down the imflammatory markers and antibiotics alongside Methadone for pain. We meet with the vet tomorrow afternoon to see where we go from here, our bill is already £2,000 and rising daily, such a worry. The insurance only covers £500 per condition unfortunately so not much help there. Freddie has not eaten since last Thursday and will not even take water so he is on a fluid drip. The PolyNeuropathy /Arthritis is life long condition so we need to weigh up what his quality of life will be so some hard decisions to be made. Once again thankyou my friends. ...Pippins2 x

June12my thoughts are with you both.I have more empathy for animals than humans they are our loving companions no matter what.So distressing when they are sick.Labs are fighters so you must keep on giving your support.and visiting if the vet, will let you.keep in mind that wonderful Roselle from 9-11.

To door spot yes I tried acupuncture but for something else.It did not help my RLS but I think the needle placements are in different areas for different problems.I read on this site someone else was trying it but did not say if it helped. As you know one result does not mean another person will have the same response. The only way to find out is to try it for your-self.I was surprised it was painless.Make sure you go to someone who knows what they are doing. My sciatica was vastly improved and could barely crawl into the office on my first treatment.

I'm so sorry to hear about your poor Freddie, I hope he starts to improve soon. Sending him and you my very best wishes.
