Ever since my RLS symptoms started I have been very unsure about the advice I have seen about moderate exercise. If you use a bicycle or exercise bike what effect does this have on your RLS symptoms. My legs are always painful but i thought that it was unlikely that they would be any worse with some gentle exercise and it might even help!!

It seems to depend in the individual, even tho most of the expert advice is to do gentle exercise. Some seems to benefit from exercise, some dont. I am one that doesnt find that exercise helps my RLS, altho i call my exercise taking the dog for a walk. I can sit all day indoors, and still find no difference to my RLS. If my meds are working then my RLS remains quiet for most of the night, but not worse symptoms.

I find that short walks alternating with short spells of sitting are best. Too much sitting or too much walking makes my rls worse.

Thanks for your reply. I haven't done very much on the exercise bike but do think that walking helps a bit. Like Elisse it doesn't seem to matter much whether I do walk or not. I do try to do a couple of miles each day simply because I enjoy it !
