Can you tie it in with starting a new drug?Or are you on high doses of a dopamine agonist, (such as Mirapexin or rotigotine?

It may also be that the condition has naturally progressed, as I have experienced.

I thought just having the restless legs was terrible but now when I have it in my torso and arms I long for the days it was just the legs!

gbuett84,

I am also a long time sufferer of RLS. It is a mis named condition. They should have called it RBS for Restless Body syndrome. I go thru periods where my long bones ache so bad and my hands and feet as well. The meds I take remove some of the symptoms, but not enough to allow me to lie down and be still and ''sleep''. Sometimes I'd swear that I have insects crawling in certain areas of my body but a self examination reveals no insects and it goes on a long time.

Opiates are the only thing I have found to break the cycle, let me get some rest and stop the pain. The problem in IL. USA is getting even one pill more than enough to take one vicodin a day.

My logic is, who cares if a man almost 80 gets dependent on opiates. They don't give a rip if you are dependent on Nitro for your heart, requip for the movement, synthroid for your Thyroid output and on and on for regular dependency of non opiate drugs, but dependent all the same. If the month has 31 days they limit me to 30 pills so one day I break one into half and make it last two days. Not the best answer, but the one I've found. Yes to the skin feeling like you'd be better off dead and I have said that to my neurologist, who doesn't have RLS and awaits my visit every time I need a new Prescription. He really gets upset when I talk like that, but that is how I feel most of the time.

Are you sure the itching is RLS I have suffered for 50 years but never itching. Constant

moving of legs for me but at the moment under control with drugs. Have you seen a GP?

No one knows. I do kno I only used to get it when pregnant and not I get it all the time. Doc says my blood iron is good buy iron stores are low, but he didn't tell me to take supplements. It's only gotten worse, I hav it all over my body now. I had iron problems since very young and rls starting as a teenager, only occasionally tho. I think I'm just gonna get iron supplements and stay on top hem for a month to see if there's a change.
