--After every type of med & therapy pain is worse resulting in 'seizures' at random points near the spine that result in trips to ER for relief. My regular Pain Management doc started me on MIRAPEX 3 weeks ago. No change in pain but have been dizzy, feeling as if floor's falling out from under me and i cannot even sit up. My body is telling me to lie down. I THINK THE MIRAPEX IS CAUSING THIS, BUT because of the severe pain attacks she wants me to continue MIRAPEX at least 2 more weeks. AM I ON THE RIGHT TRACK IN THINKING MIRIPEX IS CAUSING THE SEVERE DIZZINESS ? DAX
I have had severe muscle spasms since... - Restless Legs Syn...
I have had severe muscle spasms since before C-spine surgery in 06 because these spasms/seizures began in the neck & now over entire spine..
Hi Dax welcome to the gorum sorry you are having such problems. Have you had a definite diagnosis as to what is causing the spasms/seizures? Has it been classed as restless leg syndrome or another problem or both? It would seem at least you are under pain management and been given mirapex so is thete any other condition apart from rls? Do you take any other medication? Sorry for all questions but unsure if this isrls causing all this distress. As for the dizziness yes some people do feel dizzy/drowsy with mirapex. From my own and from many others experience with mirapex if it is going to help with rls there is usually a significant improvement from the start.Take care Daz there are some very knowledgeable members on forum and you will get support, there is also healthunlocked pain concern forum to help with the sevete pain you are going through ..kim x
Sweetheart ask them to try you on Opana Er It has really helped me. Hope you find something to relief your suffering!!! xxx Mitzi
i have been on Opana ER+IR 4breakthru pain. Doc tries new med therapy every year. (Lortab, then Methadon, etc.) Insurance stopped covering Opana so now on low dose Morphine ER & IR, the IR really helping breakthru pain. Also 90mg Cymbalta & just added MIRAPEX. Pain at same level but Mirapex causes Vertigo type symptom & have to lay flat in bed, so X. Only some kind of pain med takes the edge off Pain Spasms. Now Neurologist wants me to get a NeuroStem pain Pump & my long time Pain Mgmt MD wants me to have a NeuroStem Block. Was going to go with the Block until i discovered here Anethesiologists do those procedures not Neurosurgeons as I wish. What's your (& any1s) opinion?
Sorry Daz I have no experience of either the block or pain pump. One member on here I know has had excellent relief from a spinal morphine pump, There seems to be a few on pain concern website that use them. Thanks for prune tip!
