Presumably you are on a low dosage patch to start with? (ie 1mg or 2 mg) Patches take a while to take effect but not that long! If you are on a low dose, you may need to be on more than 1 or 2 mg so perhaps try two patches at the same time, just for now as an emergency measure to help you sleep. I think I had the same problem when I started but now have been on 3mg for about 2 years and they have been brilliant, as long as I don't put them on too close to bed time (8pm is ideal for me). Best of luck!

I agree with Tiredparent, maybe the dose is too low if you are on a 1mg or 2mg. You can put two 1mg patches on, see if that works, or two 2mg til you can talk to your doctor. 4mg isnt recommended, but for an emergency, it wont hurt. Good luck..

I have been on the patch for 2 years. Up to 8 mg. I learned that for me and others, take patch off one hour before bed. I sleep better without it. Fewer nightmares also.

Thanks to everyone for the info and suggestions regarding the neupro patches. I went to see the doctor on the fourth day she upped the doze to 2mg and the rls is a lot better will see how I go on. Think I may need to go up to 3mg but the doctor said I would have to speak to the neurologist for that. Changing from one med to another is horendous .you are pacing the floor until the new meds kick in. I hope the patches work I don't want to go through that again. Thanks again. Eve
