I am curious about the feelings that other people on this site are experiencing. My RLS hits when lying on my back. Typically at night only.

When I first lie down, it will hit. My legs almost uncontrollably jump and twitch. If I roll over and lie on my stomach, it slows slightly, but enough that I notice. After I fall asleep, I have continued twitching (as I am told by my wife) through the night. Those do not keep me awake, but absolutely keep my wife awake. Has anyone else had this experience?

Well you sound as if you are definately having PLMD which happens while asleep as your wife has found out by your twitching, usually kicking is involved too. Alot of people get relief from RLS by laying on their stomach. How long have you had RLS, do you take any meds for it. I have left a link about PLMD on another post on here recently.

My RLS hits me when I always lay-down on my side, left or right. If I lay on my back I would never ever sleep and even if I did, I would snore!!! I can't seem to get comfortable now because of this stupid RLS

Did you try body pillows? They help me greatly..but not always.

I kind of tuck them around me..It's not the greatest answer but

on those nights when I can't stop twisting and turning..they stop

me from doing that most of the time.

I am getting a little relief by lying on my stomach so I have watched tv from my lounge floor several times lately gives me a bit of a crick in my neck though! Pramipexole has not been working so well recently either. Very poor sleep.

A long time ago someone said to lay on the tummy and use your

feet to hook unto the mattress..It worked for a while for me..I

quit for the same reason as you did jigglylegs and by the way.,.

HELLO! =) I don't remember hearing from you for a while.

Did you end up getting some dosage increases of the Pramipexole..

for those that it works for, yay! Welcome to the club of no sleep.

Mines not RLS tonight, it's just me. =/

I have quite severe RLS affecting arms legs and head - like electric shocks every 12 seconds all night every night through until morning(without Rotigotine patch - my lifesaver). Lying on my stomach does definitely ease the intensity of the feeling and allows a shallow sleep.

Which ever position I get into will not relieve RLS for me, cold will help for a short time, cold floors, cold cream any thing out the fridge or freezer I can put on the affected area. I'm exhausted just taken 10 mins to write this.

Thanks for the responses everyone. It was good to hear that there are others who are experiencing the same symptoms at I am. For quite a while I had never heard from anyone who experienced the same feelings that I did. I will say that my RLS has not been as severe as many of the other posts I am reading. Luckily it has primarily been at night and during periods of inactivity (car rides, flights or watching tv shows). But I have found what I think is a solution to some of my issues. I had read about a year ago about the effects that Camu Camu can have on people with RLS. So I immediately ran out to Whole Foods and picked up some. To my disappointment, I felt no change. But about 6 weeks ago a friend of mine was talking about friend of theirs who was somehow related to a company that sells a Camu Camu product. She is a biologist and had great things to say about the company. So I looked into it and gave their product a try. And I have to say that almost all of my symptoms have nearly faded entirely. I still have the urge to "tighten" my leg muscles occasionally to get them to relax, but the twitching has subsided to only about 95%. I want to say it was all from this camupure product, but I need some validation from others. I guess the crazy amount of vitamin C and antioxidants are what opens up the flow of blood in the nervous system or something like that. So I started taking 3 of these capsules in the morning and another 2 when I went to bed, and after about a week I noticed a change. I am not into my 4th week and think I have found a solution. If someone else can give this a try and let me know what you feel, I am very curious. Google camupure and you will find the product called amacari. Please let me know if anyone else tries this and feels something. I need some validation. Thanks. I am hopeful that this is not a placebo effect and possibly a remedy.
