Raynauds

Hi I am new on here I have had Raynauds for about a year now and have been coping ok until the weather got colder in October. My hands and feet are very cold and painful, I have been given Nifedipine 5mg but am getting migraine headaches so have stopped taking them on my GPs advice. I am looking at gloves socks etc but am not sure what to buy. I also suffer from Chronic Fibromyalgia so life is a bit of a struggle. Any advice would be appreciated.

I find the "silver" gloves from the Raynaud's shop help a lot The are very fine so don't need to be removed when handling money, cards etc.- and of course can also have sheepskin mitts or similar put on top. Didn't find the socks very effective . For cold feet the thermals from Asda or Primark do the trick for me

I wear ski mittens when out and about - they are roomy enough to wiggle my fingers in with a hottie inside. A bit clumsy to do things in but I have mastered even opening a chocolate bar and eating it in them :) just takes practice.

Silver gloves - eg silvergloves.co.uk/

Knitted wrist warmers, to make your blood-flow warmer

Knitted ankle warmers, ditto

'Heat holders' thick socks - heatholders.com/uk/

Have a look on the Raynaud's & Scleroderma website raynauds.org.uk where you will find a variety of heating aids which may help.

Try turtle-doves.co.uk for lovely wrist warmers like tall-tim suggested

I have heated gloves with rechargeable batteries. Its the only thing that works for me. Have tried silver gloves and silk ones too but did not help. I keep reusable handwarmers in my bag for emergencies.
