Are you asking about research drugs trials for PSP or CBD or both? I am not aware of any trials in the UK with Dopamine for PSP/CBD. The trials going on are Duventide and Noscira and these are both closed to recruitment now I understand, awaiting results.

It's a difficult area. The number of PSP patients is relatively small, so the drug companies stand to make little money, especially as levodopa is now off patent. Without getting too technical, it's would be a very difficult trial to perform as patients are so complicated and distributed widely.

Our neurologist says that Dopamine for PSP patients either doesn't work at all or will work for a short time then stop working. He said one way to diferentate between Parkinson's and PSP or other diseases is that dopamine doesn't work when given to the patient with non-Parkinson's but does work in the patient WITH Parkinson's. In my wife's case she took dopamine and kept increasing the doesage (Dr. perscribed) but didn't get any effect from it. We then went off of dopamine to see if without it there would be a difference. We saw no difference either on or off the dopamine.
