Sheri, thanks for posting this. I do keep a keen eye on developments too. Not sure what the news is really. It would seem they have decided to continue with the trial , but haven't released any results thus far. On a sceptical note, I think they like to keep their investors happy and the jackpot of the Alzheimer's cure well and truly dangled in their faces! End of this year for results seems a long way off when people with Psp decline so fast doesn't it.
Xx
I agree!. It is also to difficult to understand if this is to stall symptoms and extend life or just make life with PSP easier?? I have yet to hear anything positive from the trial. I realize that people don't know if they are on placebo or real yet but there hasn't been many posts from people on the trial claiming any good news.
I also believe the difficultly in getting any real results. Since this disease is always misdiagnosed to start with, who really knows when it starts? Everyone could have had symptoms for years before it really gets decided that it is PSP. So how can they make a medication that to treat a disease when you never really know what stage the person is at?
I know with Jeff, it was at least 4 years before we had a firm diagnosis. They wouldn't accept him in the trial because of previous stem cell treatments. They also didn't say it but I believe that they also felt he was too far gone. This disease is such a tragedy!
Well, on we march hoping for the best!
